Mosaic Handbag | Majora
An intricate laser cut shoulder bag that raised $2800 for Child’s Play Charity
In the fall of 2011, I made this laptop bag for a video game themed auction that benefits Childs Play Charity. The auction, which takes place every year throughout the Desert Bus for Hope gaming marathon, focuses on fan-created, handmade items.
The front of the bag is a felt mosaic, made from around 200 pieces of laser cut felt and fleece in 16 different colors. To assemble it, the piece had to first be broken down into several “mini-mosaics” that were put together to form the final piece. The entire mosaic is hand-stitched and the bag is made from scratch.
