Box Mod | Bargain Quest

A loving addition to a favorite indie board game

I love tabletop games. I love the mood around the table, and I especially love the craftsmanship that goes into their design. Bargain Quest is not only one of my favorite games to play - it’s also one of the prettiest. It seemed unfitting to put all these gorgeous game components in zip bags, so I created a bespoke holder that keeps everything in place.

The box also serves as a cash drawer during play, since the game involves making a lot of change and moving currency on and off the board. It is a a game of adventure and capitalism, after all.

Modeled in Tinkercad and Inkscape, printed on my Polyprinter 508. To make the wood grain coloration, I printed the original parts in gold ABS, with browns layered on top. The end product has a little sparkle to it, just like real wood.

One of the nice things about adding a rigid insert to your game boxes - they tend to fit snugly with their lids. And since I was precise in my measurements, you can actually flip this box upside down without getting anything out of place.
